Invetstore

Client: Fairview Veterinary Group

Location: Kent, UK

Business type: Veterinary ecommerce

Technology: Joomla

The brief

The brief was to create a platform whereby customers (principly farmers) could order prescription medicines and associated consumables without the need to acquire a prescription from their vet first.

As much automation as possible was a requirement however due to the nature of the products sold a level of oversight has to be built in.

The solution

At the heart of the platform is a sophisticated ecommerce platform built in Joomla that allows customers to register not just themselves but their animals, the associated veterinary practices and their agricultural buying groups.

Once a customer has registered they can purchase drugs and a prescription is generated on the fly and sent to the registered vet for that animal to be digitally signed. We believe this is a first for a UK ecommerce pharmacy site.

The order once signed by the vets is sent to the wholesaler where the dispensing pharmacist checks the details and completes the order cycle.

The customer is notified of the shipping details by email.

The result

In creating Invetstore we have engineered a solution that makes it quick and easy for customers to order drugs and products for their animals as the need for acquiring a prescription beforehand has been negated.

The site is also a winner for signing veterinarians as they receive a royalty on every prescription they sign, thus making it worth their while to engage with the platform.
