“Why can’t I upload images to my website?” is a question we often get asked. There will always be a straightforward reason and these are the 3 most common:
- The file size is too big. There will always be some level of limit and for an ecommerce product image that might be as low as 800kb.
- It’s the wrong format. Anything other than a jpg, png or gif will usually fail.
- Naming conventions. If your image file has multiple words, hyphenate it, do-it-like-this, and ON NO ACCOUNTS have an ampersand (&) in the file name.
If you still have trouble uploading images then you may just need the limit raised via the server's control panel. If it is a site we host, just ask and we'll up it.
